For the eighth consecutive season, the North Bay Memorial Gardens will be the home of the North Bay Trappers Jr. A Hockey Team. Located on a quiet residential street, sandwiched in-between downtown North Bay and the Highway system, the Gardens is home to the finest set-up of any team in the NOJHL.
Combined with the surrounding baseball diamonds and soccer fields, the Gardens is part of one of the few sportsplexes in town. The rink itself holds a regulation ice 190′ x 85′ ice surface while it is capable of holding an attendance of 4025 with seating and standing room combined.
Once inside the arena you will notice how unique it is in comparison with other facilities across the province. The walls of the lobby are decorated with pictures of past teams, alumni players, hockey, figure skating and North Bay sports history in general. The seating portion of the rink is permitted to strictly seating on the sides of the arena in a fashion similar to a football stadium. At one end of the arena is a Hall of Fame with a Super Suite located above while the other end is home to a large curtain that separates the zamboni and storage area.
The Trappers organization have many areas within the arena. You can find a marketing office, coaching office, general manager’s office and souvenir store scattered throughout the facility. In direct interest to the players, the dressing room is home to a dress-down area, limited off-ice training equipment, medical facilities, dedicated individual stalls and a laundry facility. Aside from the Trappers dressing room, there is also a skate repair and sharpening room along with an equipment storage area used by team staff.
All of this combined with the best fans in the league makes the experience of any Trapper player a memorable and exciting one!!
